Belgorod as an example: Sevastopol residents are asking for missile shelters on the beaches
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Sevastopol residents are asking to equip the city’s beaches with concrete shelters. Readers «Sevastopol newspaper» propose to take into account the experience of Belgorod, where similar structures are located throughout the city.
Please raise the issue of installing concrete shelters on the beaches of Sevastopol. People must be able to find shelter in time. The tragedy in Uchkuevka, unfortunately, showed that these are necessary measures, — readers call the editor.
In addition, residents are outraged that there was no warning about the missile danger in the city on the afternoon of June 23.
Director of the Institute for Urban Development of Northern State University Alexey Tikhonov said TASSthat the creation of temporary shelters throughout Sevastopol, including on the beaches, will not require a large amount of resources — they can be cast from concrete, and scientists from a local university are ready to help in developing the optimal design.
He noted that a large number of shelters have remained in Sevastopol since Soviet times, some of which were built even with the expectation of a nuclear strike. And temporary mobile structures may be relevant for areas such as beaches.
I don’t really see any problem here at all. Calculate [проект укрытий], placing concrete is easy. The university has equipment that we use for all sorts of experiments, and we could use it to test the design and materials, — added A. Tikhonov.
Similar structures are needed at public transport stops.
Entrances open automatically
By the way, in addition to shelters, other security measures are provided in Belgorod: 4.4 thousand controllers are installed on the entrance doors of apartment buildings.
The devices are connected to the EDDS system. When there is a missile alert, they automatically open the intercoms within three to five seconds. Meanwhile, in Sevastopol, things are not so good with security measures. Residents continue to complain that not all shelters in the city are open during air raids.
On the afternoon of June 23, a missile attack on Uchkuevka beach killed four people, including two children. More than 150 people were injured by shrapnel.
