Belt cameras started working on the streets of Sevastopol. Unbelted drivers face fines

CrimeaPRESS reports:

The State Traffic Inspectorate of Sevastopol informs.

Today, February 15, preparatory work has been completed to enable video surveillance cameras installed on the roads of Sevastopol to record violations by drivers of the rules for using seat belts, as well as requirements to let pedestrians pass at an unregulated pedestrian crossing. These CCTV cameras are installed mainly on hazardous sections of roads.

The traffic police of Sevastopol reminds:

The traffic rules of the Russian Federation establish the obligation for the driver of a vehicle approaching an unregulated pedestrian crossing to give way to pedestrians crossing the road or entering the roadway (tram tracks) to make the crossing. In addition, in accordance with the provisions of the Convention on Road Traffic, drivers must, when approaching an uncontrolled pedestrian crossing, reduce their speed appropriately so as not to endanger pedestrians who have entered or are entering the crossing; If necessary, you must stop and let pedestrians pass.

Please note that the sanction of Article 12.18 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation provides for punishment in the form of an administrative fine in the amount of 1,500 to 2,500 rubles. It should be remembered that in the event of a collision with a pedestrian and causing serious harm to his health, criminal liability arises, which, according to Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of up to nine years.

As for seat belts, such a violation also faces a fine. In accordance with paragraph 2.1.2 of the traffic rules, the driver of a motor vehicle is obliged, when driving a vehicle equipped with seat belts, to be fastened and not to carry passengers who are not wearing seat belts. The sanction of Article 12.6 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation provides for punishment in the form of an administrative fine in the amount of 1,000 rubles.
