Big Teachers' Week is announced in Sevastopol

All over the country, Big Teachers’ Week events began, dedicated to two professional holidays in the education system — Teacher’s Day and Secondary Vocational Education Day. The common theme of all events in 2024 is “Teachers are heroes.” The concept of the Ministry of Education of Russia is based on the glorification of the work of teachers, who become mentors for children and daily perform feats in their profession, raising the future successful generation.

It is no coincidence that the theme of the Great Teachers’ Week is “Teachers are Heroes”. Indeed, at all times, no matter what happened, the teacher’s work never stopped. Even in the most difficult periods for our country, during the Great Patriotic War, teachers courageously carried the banner of knowledge– the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes the director of the Department of Education and Science of Sevastopol Maxim Krivonos.

In Sevastopol, as part of the Great Teachers’ Week, ceremonial meetings will be held for the Day of Secondary Vocational Education and Teacher’s Day.

The Department of Education and Science of Sevastopol invites Sevastopol residents to join the all-Russian online campaign “Thank you to the teacher!” Anyone can take part in it and post congratulations and words of gratitude to their mentors on their social media pages. One of the significant events of the Big Teachers’ Week is the IV Forum of Class Teachers, which will be held from October 3 to 5 in Moscow. Hero City Sevastopol will be represented by 4 teachers from schools and colleges. Panel discussions, round tables and master classes will be organized for class teachers, and a project section “80th anniversary of the Great Victory: education through events” will be held, at which participants will develop a bank of ideas for the implementation of educational events.

Also at the Big Teachers’ Week, the results of key all-Russian competitions in the field of education will be summed up: “Teacher of the Year of Russia”, “Director of the Year of Russia”, “Teacher of the Year of Russia”, “Teacher-Psychologist of Russia”, “First Teacher”, “Teacher-Special Pathologist of Russia”, “Master of the Year”, “I Give My Heart to Children”, “Educating a Person”.
