Branch of the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation in Sevastopol provides assistance to participants and veterans of the Northern Military District

The Sevastopol branch of the State Fund «Defenders of the Fatherland» continues to actively work to provide assistance and support to the participants and veterans of the special military operation, their families, as well as the families of the fallen servicemen. The fund was created on the initiative of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin. Its branches began operating across the country on June 1, 2023.

Every day, dozens of servicemen and members of their families apply to the regional branch of the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation. The nature of the appeals is very different: someone needs the help of a lawyer and a psychologist, someone needs advice from a specialist of a monofunctional center or social protection workers. The best specialists work in the fund with a common goal — to help and support. Support can also be obtained by phone: the hotline is open 24/7— the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes the Deputy Governor of Sevastopol Alexander Kulagin.

To date, 206 people have applied to the branch of the State Fund «Defenders of the Fatherland». During the period from June 19 to June 23, 20 people came to the initial appointment, 10 of whom were assigned to social coordinators.

For three weeks of work of the regional branch of the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation, we have achieved significant success, and interaction with state authorities has been fully established. As a result, many issues can be resolved quickly. Some of those who apply receive counseling already in the initial appointment window, and those who contacted the social coordinators come back to say thank you. There is nothing more valuable to us than this feedback.— says the head of the Committee of families of soldiers of the Fatherland Victoria Tupchanenko.

In total, 75 veterans and family members of the fallen participants in the special military operation are assigned to the social coordinators.

The main task of the fund is targeted assistance and support to combat veterans, demobilized members of the NMD and family members of fallen servicemen. Helping the maximum number of applicants allows close interaction with the Committee of the families of soldiers of the Fatherland. Now we have concluded several agreements on cooperation in providing free legal assistance with the Association of Lawyers of Russia, with the bar and notary chambers, and with the Commissioner for Human Rights.
