“Brightened up the loneliness” and robbed the gentleman. A cautionary tale from Yalta

CrimeaPRESS reports:

A 53-year-old resident of a resort suburb reported a theft to the Yalta police. The man met a woman the day before. Having invited his companion to his home, he left the guest unattended for a short time, and after she left, he discovered that his smartphone, two bank cards and 10 thousand rubles were missing. The total amount of damage was 60 thousand rubles.

As a result of operational search activities, criminal investigation officers identified and detained the suspect. She turned out to be a 29-year-old local resident who had previously been repeatedly convicted, including for property and drug crimes.

During a conversation with the attacker, police officers established that the woman spent the stolen money on personal needs, and used the funds stored on bank cards to pay for purchases in various stores, after which she got rid of the evidence by throwing away the plastic cards— said the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea.

Law enforcement officers searched the suspect’s place of residence and seized the mobile phone stolen from the applicant.

The investigator of the police department No. 1 “Alupkinsky” of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Yalta opened two criminal cases on the grounds of crimes under Part 2 and Part 3 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Theft”). The suspect could face up to 6 years in prison.
