British warplanes intercepted over the Black Sea, near the state border of Russia
CrimeaPRESS reports:
On June 26, Russian airspace control systems detected three air targets approaching the State Border of the Russian Federation over the Black Sea. How noted in the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, a pair of Su-27 fighters from the air defense forces on duty was raised into the air to identify air targets and prevent border violations.
The crews of the Russian fighters identified the air targets as an RC-135 electronic reconnaissance and electronic warfare aircraft and two RAF Typhoon multirole fighters. When Russian fighters approached, foreign military aircraft made a U-turn from the State Border of the Russian Federation— reported in the military department.
The Russian planes returned safely to their base airfield. Violation of the state border of the Russian Federation is not allowed.
The flight of Russian fighters was carried out in strict accordance with international rules for the use of airspace over neutral waters without crossing air routes and dangerously approaching aircraft of a foreign state, the Russian Defense Ministry clarified and released a video of the interception — escorting uninvited guests.
