Business mission: Sevastopol entrepreneurs visited Turkey

From 28 June to July 1 2022 a business mission of Sevastopol small and medium-sized businesses to Turkey took place. The organizer was the Export Support Center with the support of the Government of Sevastopol. The official start of the business visit was a round table with the participation of the Trade Representation of the Russian Federation, the Russian-Turkish Business Council «ROST» and the Russian House.
Geopolitical relations between the countries are rapidly developing. At one of the meetings between the presidents of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Turkey, a decision was made to increase trade between our countries. At the end of the 2021 year, it set a record and amounted to $33 billion. Now our task is to build new logistics in economic conditions together with the business of Sevastopol 2022 of the year. During the business mission, more than 12 meetings were held with Turkish entrepreneurs, at which the parties agreed on future export projects , the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes the Deputy Governor Sevastopol Maria Litovko.
According to the official, the delegation included representatives of various sectors of the economy — information technology, furniture fittings, food industry. Sevastopol companies presented their goods and services, held talks with potential partners, visited local offices and factories.
Also, as part of the business mission, a round table was held on the prospects for trade and economic cooperation between Sevastopol and Turkey. The event was attended by Alaudin Yarakhmedov, a representative of the export support group, a leading expert of the Russian Trade Representation in Istanbul. He spoke to Russian exporters with a welcoming speech and a report on effective mechanisms for foreign economic activity, trade barriers and market protection measures that affect the access of Russian products to the Turkish market.
Alexander Sotnichenko, head of the Rossotrudnichestvo office in Turkey, Natalia Bartoshuk, head of the Sevastopol Export Support Center, and Kadir Kurtulush, Chairman of the Board of the Russian-Turkish Trading House ROST, shared their views on the opportunities for promoting the products of Sevastopol exporters in the Turkish direction. Maxim Durnev, head of the Sputnik Turkey news agency, also took part in the round table.
Historically, Sevastopol entrepreneurs have a high interest in working with Turkey. We see the prospects for cooperation, and the meetings held have confirmed the interest of Turkish business as well. In the near future, a visit of a Turkish business delegation with the assistance of the Export Support Center is planned, which will allow more Sevastopol entrepreneurs to hold productive negotiations and demonstrate production capacities , — commented Natalia Bartoshuk, head of the Sevastopol Export Support Center.
As a result of the debut visit to Istanbul of business circles of Sevastopol, a reverse business mission to the Crimean peninsula of representatives of a number of Turkish companies interested in establishing mutually beneficial cooperation is expected.
