CrimeaPRESS reports:
Comment by the Head of the Republic of Crimea Sergei Aksenov in connection with the International Day of Older Persons.
October 1 is International Day of Older Persons. This is another reason to express deep respect and gratitude to the older generation, to show attention and care, and to say the kindest words.
“We should make nails out of these people: There wouldn’t be any stronger nails in the world.” This famous quote accurately and succinctly reflects the spirit of a great generation of defenders, creators, creators. You are an example to follow. We are eternally grateful to you for your wisdom and strength, for everything you have done for the country and people, for all of us. Our duty is to provide you with support, surround you with care, and guarantee confidence in the future.
Caring for older people is the most important area of social policy. Among the key tasks is the organization and improvement of the system of long-term care for elderly citizens. People in need of care are provided with social services and technical rehabilitation equipment free of charge at home.
By the end of 2023, 900 citizens were accepted for social services within the long-term care system. In 2036, this number should increase to 6 thousand people.
I wish all elderly people good health, long life and all the best! – says the commentary of the Head of Crimea.
