By the end of 2024, the automated centralized warning system will cover 84% of the population of Crimea

The Head of the Republic of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, in his Telegram channel commented on the issue of developing a system for alerting the population about emerging threats and emergency situations.
According to the Head of the Republic, work on the creation and development of a regional automated centralized warning system (RASCS), including emergency ones, has been carried out in the republic since 2016.
To date, the main and reserve control points for the system, as well as 25 control points for municipal systems, have been created. 609 terminal devices with loudspeakers were installed in 383 settlements of the republic. By the end of this year, their number will increase to 762, and the number of the region’s population living in the RASC coverage area will exceed 84%. Work in this direction continues– shared the Head of Crimea.
At the same time, in populated areas that are not equipped with warning devices, a mobile complex is used, as well as transport of enterprises and organizations. Information is also used through TV channels and SMS.
Sergei Aksyonov noted that according to the results of the inspection, the republican warning system was recognized as having limited readiness to carry out its intended tasks.
To bring it to full readiness, a number of priority tasks must be solved. This is, first of all, retrofitting with monitoring systems and terminal warning devices. This year, more than 11 million rubles have been allocated from the republican budget for these purposes, next year the funding will amount to 48.8 million rubles, — said the Head of the Republic.
It is reported that an instruction has been sent to the heads of municipal administrations to plan funds for the development of municipal warning systems in 2025.
