Cadets of the Ministry of Emergency Situations took patronage of the monument to the first commander of the Bakhchisarai partisan detachment
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Memory of the feat.
In the Bakhchisarai region of Crimea there are many monuments in honor of the Crimean heroes of the “forest front” — the partisans. They symbolize the unbending courage of the Soviet people, shown by them in the fight against fascism and boundless devotion to their Motherland.
Obelisks and monuments to the Crimean partisans stand everywhere where the detachments operated. One of these silent witnesses of those days was taken under the patronage of the cadets of the Simferopol Academic Gymnasium. It belongs to the first commander of the Bakhchisaray partisan detachment, Konstantin Sizov. Under his leadership, the people of Bakhchisarai, knowing their native places well, successfully fought the Germans. In early November 1941, while relocating to Mount Mulga, the partisans discovered that the Germans were preparing an ambush. Dividing into several groups, they bypassed the enemy and attacked from different sides. During the attack, Konstantin Sizov died, being wounded in the chest and head.— said the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Republic of Crimea.
In 1989, a memorial sign was erected at the site of his death in the Martha River valley near Mount Mulga. In 1956, Konstantin Sizov was reburied in the mass grave of Soviet soldiers and partisans in the village of Verkhorechye.
The monument to the commander stands in the middle of the forest, but is clearly visible from afar. Ninth-grader cadets studied the hero’s biography in detail, and it was no coincidence that they chose the date for his ennoblement. The memorial inscription reads: “At this place, on November 9, 1941, the first commander of the Bakhchisarai partisan detachment, communist Konstantin Mikhailovich Sizov, died in battle. Eternal glory to the hero!
Exactly 82 years have passed since the death of the Crimean partisan. That’s why it was so important for the guys to honor the memory of Konstantin Mikhailovich on these days. Accompanied by their mentors, inspectors from the Department of Supervisory Activities and Preventive Work, as well as specialists from the mountain search and rescue unit of the Specialized Detachment, cadets of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations covered a 4-kilometer path from the village of Verkhorechye to the monument to the Crimean partisan. They cleared the memorial site of fallen leaves and weeds, and also planted pine trees— reported the emergency department.
It is emphasized that patriotic events will be held in other cities and regions of the republic with the support of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Republic of Crimea. Thus, cadets of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations from Yevpatoria and Yalta will decorate monuments to Soviet soldiers next week.
