Cameras for remote monitoring and control systems are being installed in the Simferopol forestry
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Cameras of the remote monitoring and control system «Lesokhranitel» are being installed in the Simferopol forestry. Also, locations for installing additional video devices in the Bakhchisaray and Sudak forestry are being determined in order to reduce the area of the so-called «dead» zones.
Let us recall that the system was deployed at the Crimean Ministry of Natural Resources base in 2021 to improve the efficiency of forest fire protection. In the following 2022-2023 years, with the support of the Government of the Republic of Crimea, the system was expanded.
By the beginning of the fire-hazardous period of 2024, 40 video cameras were in operation, which carry out round-the-clock monitoring of fire hazard and fires in forests and specially protected areas of regional significance, and also monitor the situation in the territories of the Republic of Crimea adjacent to the forest fund, in order to prevent the spread of fire to the forest areas of the peninsula.
In 2024, cameras were installed in the Bakhchisarai and Sudak forestries. In the Yevpatoria forestry, the device was replaced with a modern model, which, without changing its location, helped to significantly increase the monitoring area due to the improved optical component of the camera.
The system has demonstrated good efficiency in detecting forest fires on forest fund lands. In addition to forest fire formations and units of the Ministry of Natural Resources of Crimea, specialized republican and federal authorities, which are part of the Unified State System for the Prevention and Elimination of Emergencies, are connected to the «Lesokhranitel». This allows for prompt decisions to be made on increasing the number of emergency rescue units when critical situations are identified, as well as monitoring the development of the situation and adjusting the response level in real time.
If a forest fire is detected, it is necessary to immediately notify the Crimean regional forestry dispatch service by phone: +7-978-000-01-92 or by dialing 112.
