Carbonated drinks were illegally produced in Crimea

Employees of the Main Directorate of Economic Security and Anti-Corruption of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, together with colleagues from the Vog of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia to ensure economic safety and security in the territories of the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol and the Economic Safety and Security Policy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Republic of Crimea, suppressed the activities of two residents of the region.

They are suspected of illegal use of means of individualization of goods, committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy, said official representative of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs Irina Volk.

The illegal workshop was located in one of the Crimean villages. There were also warehouses and living quarters for staff. The company employed about 15 people. It has been previously established that they produced analogues of popular foreign soft carbonated drinks on an industrial scale. Labels with trademarks of famous brands were applied to the bottles. Wholesale quantities were sold under the guise of original products through controlled commercial organizations.

During the searches, police seized two production lines, more than 80 thousand bottles of finished products, labels, communications equipment, storage media, cash in the amount of more than one million rubles, financial and business documentation and other items of evidentiary value.

An investigator of the Investigative Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Crimea opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime provided for in Part 2 of Article 180 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The defendants were given a preventive measure in the form of a ban on certain actions.

Police officers establish distribution channels for counterfeit products, – Irina Volk clarified.
