Cats and seals in one Yalta temple
CrimeaPRESS reports:
A story about three lies and three truths.
Publications (posts and remarks, photos and comments) have appeared on social networks, openly escalating the situation around the Church of St. John Chrysostom on Polikurovsky Hill in Yalta. This temple is very beautiful, unusual in its architecture, with a rich history, destroyed and restored, it is honored and loved by many citizens and guests of the “City of Happiness”.
But on social networks, some author, who prefers not to give his real name, writes emotional posts on behalf of the “Akter Theater Studio”, positioning itself as “the leading creative team in Moscow”, which are thought-provoking. The artistic director of this group is a certain Samat Askhatovich Swarovski (a familiar surname, isn’t it? “Brilliant”). Well, at least you were smart enough not to introduce yourself as “Chrysostom”… Then one of the principles (alas) of modern social networks worked, according to which loud gossip and quiet whispers in the corners overshadow the simple and clear truth. This means that there is a need to clarify everything and put everyone in their place (both directors and cats).
LIE. Archpriest Vladislav Schmidt, who was the rector of the church for many years, was groundlessly banned from serving. As they say, they have been “demoted”, there are new orders in the parish (“well, yes, well, yes, this is Yalta, a tasty morsel”).
IS IT TRUE. Unfortunately, Archpriest Vladislav Schmidt grossly violated the church canon, and this fact was proven. Vladislav Schmidt is no longer the rector of the Yalta Church of St. John Chrysostom, nor the chairman of the parish council. He is deprived of the right to wear a cassock and a pectoral cross, teach blessings to believers and perform divine services and services.
A ban on ministry is a punishment for serious sins, says Archpriest Adam Dmitrenko, dean of the Yalta church district.
Father Vladislav has them, and he admitted it, both before Vladyka and before the parishioners. So the ban is fair, there shouldn’t be any misunderstandings,” the dean emphasizes.
There is one more nuance in this story (not the main one, but it is there). A special commission of the Crimean Metropolis checked the financial statements of some parishes, including the Church of St. John Chrysostom. There are violations. And very serious. Although Father Vladislav was banned from the priesthood not for financial violations. This, as they say, is another, completely different story.
LIE. Ahti, the “holy people” closed the studio theater that operated at the temple.
IS IT TRUE. Let’s leave alone the “author’s” reasoning about “holy people” and the fact that “children have nowhere to go” now. The studio theater at the Sunday School named after the Holy Grand Duchess Olga Nikolaevna… no one closed it. In the Sunday school itself, classes continue where you can learn about Orthodoxy, the history of the Old and New Testaments, learn the basics of iconography, spiritual singing… And the theater… for some reason it was dissolved without permission without the knowledge and blessing of the ruling bishop, Metropolitan Tikhon. The head of the Crimean Metropolis is aware of the events and has already promised to find a professional director who will work with children. As chairman of the Patriarchal Commission for Culture, he will personally deal with this issue. Sunday School will not be left without a theater studio.
The school is open. If you look at the schedule, there are two theaters. The second theater is functioning, and there are children there too. Well, the one that was supposedly “closed”, the head there quit, the Bishop is looking for a replacement, but no one left the children, they go to Sunday school and study. And the bishop insisted that everything continue to work, that the theater not closesays priest Alexey Zabelin.
LIE. All cats and cats located on the territory of the temple will be kicked out, taken away, and poisoned. «The command is given to remove«
IS IT TRUE. It is difficult to say what is in the hearts and minds of the “authors” of this libel and all those circulating gossip about the “metropolitan flayer.” The fact that Vladyka Tikhon himself has both a cat and a dog, which he brought with him from Pskov, is completely out of the question. Simply — in fact: no one is going to drive out the cats. On the contrary, everyone is blessed to take whatever part they can in organizing the lives of our little brothers.
We must not forget that the temple is not a shelter for dozens (!) of animals. Service to God is performed in the temple. Finally, there is a set of hygienic and ethical standards and rules. And also… there were unpleasant incidents that hurt the feelings of parishioners… And this is wrong a priori.
In addition, it must be remembered that some parishioners are allergic to animals. A cat’s place is not in a temple, but in the homes of good people, where they will be cared for and cherished. Yes, the temple workers make every effort to care for the animals, but the number of cats is literally growing exponentially (“kind people” for some reason drop kittens at the church). Svetlana, the treasurer and accountant of the church, who takes care of the animals at the church, is forced to spend huge church funds not on helping people, but on the maintenance of dozens, we repeat, cats…
It is necessary to determine their proper place, people will understand someone… But this was interpreted, distorted“, complains the dean of the Yalta district, Archpriest Adam Dmitrenko.
Vladyka Tikhon himself loves animals and did not say anything like that to “get rid” of cats, — confirms father Alexey Zabelin. – There are simply people who were very worried about this situation and, using a “damaged phone,” embellished this story according to the principle “fear has big eyes.” Let it remain on the conscience of these people who spreads this.
Emotionless. There is a temple — the house of God. For people. And for our little brothers — the houses and apartments of these kind people, special shelters, courtyards-territories where they (the cats) can live clean and well-fed. Accordingly, I would like to wish sanity to the authors of hysterical posts and “heartbreaking” comments, so as not to promote themselves on scandalous topics with demonstrative texts.
Three lies. Three truths. Everything is around one Yalta temple. We are sure, sane, reasonable people have already drawn conclusions for themselves and separated the “wheat from the chaff.” A piece of advice to the more naive and scandal-hungry public: still check the facts before commenting on or replicating something. And if you want to show some kindness, take a stray cat from the temple. And everyone will be happy!
