Director of the Department of Municipal Economy Yevgeny Gorlov supervised the work of state management companies for the maintenance of basements in multi-apartment residential buildings. He examined the objects in the Leninsky and Nakhimovsky districts.
On behalf of the Governor of Sevastopol, we are monitoring entrances in terms of preparing the city for the heating season, and in parallel we are monitoring in terms of fulfilling the task of cleaning the basements — we are looking at their condition. The head of the department noted that from the moment when the governor gave the order to check the condition of the basements, the Department of Municipal Economy received 74 appeals from residents on this issue.
To date, all appeals have been processed. Unfortunately, many owners of residential premises use basements for other purposes — they store their things that are no longer used in everyday life, thus cluttering up the premises occurs. The management companies have been instructed to work with the residents, review the tariffs within the framework of general meetings and approve them, so that such premises are properly maintained. For example, in one of the houses that we visited today, the cost of cleaning the basement from one apartment is 0.2 kopecks. According to the official, responsible employees of management companies are assigned orders for each house. Residents who have the keys to the basements are also identified, that is, general access to the basements is limited.

During the inspection of the basements, the head of the department also noticed that partitions were made in some of them.
The management company will have to apply to the State Housing Supervision Authority, since there are basements that are blocked off, therefore, the basement is not completely used by residents.
