Charitable Foundation «Gulfstream»: from a correctional school to the big world. The story of little Anya
CrimeaPRESS reports:
The Gulfstream Charitable Foundation notes: a year ago, Anya walked with an uncertain gait into the children’s inclusive center “It’s fun to walk together,” she spoke quietly and meekly, making only vowel sounds, and in fact “mooed.” Now she speaks in sentences, words with the letters Ш, С, Ф, В have been added to her dictionary, and the timbre of her voice has become louder. Anechka has learned to walk confidently, even backwards, and can even run sideways on a treadmill on her own — this is an outstanding result during a year of rehabilitation for a diagnosis of Spina bifida.
But Anya’s main achievement is entering and studying in the 1st grade. For now, the school is a correctional school, but thanks to 2 years of rehabilitation at the “It’s Fun to Walk Together” Center and 5 planned medical rehabilitations, there is a great chance of moving to a comprehensive school next year.
This is not fantasy, but the predicted result of a long, complex rehabilitation process that the girl is undergoing thanks to your financial support. For Anya there are no quick solutions, there are small but effective steps.
In order for Anya to undergo a year’s rehabilitation at the Center, 868,385 rubles remain to be raised.
In difficult moments, we become especially sensitive and responsive, ready to help those who are in trouble. And when it comes to urgent help, many of us do not hesitate to respond to calls for support. We understand that every minute counts and our contribution can save lives.
However, when it comes to long-term support, such as paying for a year’s rehabilitation program for a child, the willingness to help often wanes. It’s harder for us to help if we don’t see quick results.
Long-term rehabilitation programs, especially for children with special needs, require not only financial costs, but also time, effort and patience. They are aimed at systemic impact, development and strengthening of the child’s mental and physical abilities, which is quickly impossible. This is a marathon, not a sprint.
That is why it is so important for us that you stay with us on this long journey. Your systematic help can enable little marathon runners like Anya to continue their struggle and tirelessly move forward. Anya is at the beginning of her journey, but her results leave no doubt that the girl will cope, and a full adult life, full of opportunities and achievements, awaits her. Help Anya continue her path to independence. Let’s walk together because together we are stronger,” noted the Gulfstream Charitable Foundation.
