Charitable Foundation «Gulfstream»: Ksyusha's story is a story of struggle, faith and love

CrimeaPRESS reports:

Ksyusha Yalunina, a long-time ward of the Gulfstream Charitable Foundation, has cerebral palsy. Now she faces a new challenge — the need to undergo a course of rehabilitation treatment to relieve muscle spasticity, but compulsory medical insurance does not cover the necessary expenses. The cost of treatment is 300,000 rubles.

Previous rehabilitation in a children’s clinical sanatorium in the city of Evpatoria gave a good result: the muscles of the trunk and limbs became stronger, and the range of movements in the joints of the limbs increased.

Ksyusha is 17 and almost all her life the girl has been doing physical therapy, visiting a speech therapist, and constantly working on herself in order to move forward.

For several years she underwent rehabilitation at the children’s inclusive center “It’s fun to walk together” and during this time she managed to achieve great success in development. Ksyusha’s speech has improved significantly; she can carry on a conversation and answer in school lessons. In the inclusive play “Alice’s Dreams” based on the Lewis Carroll fairy tale, Ksyusha delightfully plays the role of the Black Queen. The heroine’s text may not be long or complex, but Ksyusha is trying very hard. The girl began to walk independently, took up equestrianism professionally, and gained modeling experience. She is doing well at school and is successfully completing the general education program. Ksyusha is a very sociable, positive girl. She loves life, and life loves her back.

But it didn’t start out that way. A long-awaited daughter, an easy pregnancy and a timely birth. But… Everything changed due to a mistake by the doctors, which endangered Ksyusha’s life from the very beginning. Ksyusha was injured in her femoral neck, followed by a stroke and clinical death. After the threat to the baby’s life had passed, it became clear that Ksyusha would be different from the others. Cerebral palsy is what the young mother was told when she held her baby in her arms.

The girl spent the first month of her life in intensive care, then her condition stabilized. Progress in Ksyusha’s development came late, despite constant classes and rehabilitation. But, thanks to her mother’s tireless faith and systematic studies, the girl was able to learn the most important thing — endless love for life and limitless willpower. After all, what is more important: birth or life? Of course, life! And Ksyusha knows this for sure.

The life of Ksyusha Yalunina is a story of struggle, perseverance, self-confidence and love. Her example shows that with the right support from loved ones and perseverance, you can overcome any difficulties. Systematic rehabilitation plays a key role in her life; it helps her move forward and reach new heights. Thank you very much for your support! — Your Gulfstream Foundation.
