«Chekhov readings in Yalta». Applications for participation are accepted until April 1

The XLII International Scientific and Practical Conference «Chekhov’s Readings in Yalta» will be held on the topic: «A.P. Chekhov in the global cultural context.”

Scientists and researchers (philologists, theater experts, culturologists, museologists, historians, philosophers, etc.), employees of libraries, museums, theaters, writers, journalists, directors, actors and translators are invited to participate. The application, the participant’s questionnaire and abstracts of the report / message are accepted until April 1 , the press service of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Crimea reported.

The conference will be held from to 23 April with the support of the Crimean Ministry of Culture and the Chekhov Commission of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The organizer is the Crimean Literary and Artistic Memorial Museum-Reserve.

The conference includes plenary and breakout sessions in the following areas:

  • A.P. Chekhov in the world cultural context — plenary session;
  • Chekhov and the modern literary process;
  • Chekhov’s creative method;
  • Chekhov and the socio-cultural space of the 19th–21st centuries;

Museums. Archives. History.

For the first time in the history of the international project, a practical section “New Forms of Work: Traditions and Innovations” will be held, where invited experts will talk about the promotion of cultural institutions in the media, work with social networks, create interesting educational video content, share their experience in organizing large cultural online — and offline events.
