Chersonese Tauride awarded the winners of the contest «ABC of Sevastopol»
CrimeaPRESS reports:
On the eve of the 240th anniversary of the founding of the city, the Central Library System for Children organized a local history festival «We are Sevastopol». As part of it, a competition of family creativity «ABC of Sevastopol» was held, as a result of which the children received gifts from the museum-reserve «Tauric Chersonesos» and other cultural institutions.
The opening of the exhibition and the awarding of the winners of the local history competition became one of the key events of the festival. 209 participants submitted their works to the ABC of Sevastopol family art competition, depicting the iconic sights of the hero city and Tauric Chersonesos. The best drawings were included in the electronic album of the same name, which was presented at the awards ceremony. 14 competition entries were dedicated to Tauric Chersonesos and its monuments. Some of them can now be seen in the album «ABC of Sevastopol», and their authors were additionally awarded with letters of thanks and memorable prizes from the museum-reserve— told the press service of Tauric Chersonesos.
Natalya Rubanenko, head of the scientific library of Tauric Chersonese, noted:
We are very pleased that so many children decided to submit works depicting the iconic places of the ancient city for the competition. Here you can see St. Vladimir Cathedral, and the Foggy Bell, and the Basilica of 1935. All works are made with soul, and in each one one feels love for Tauric Chersonesus — the symbol of Sevastopol.
Congratulations to the participants and winners of the ABC of Sevastopol Contest and invite you to the museum-reserve to not only study history, but also be inspired to create new masterpieces! Happy City Day to all its inhabitants!
