Chersonese Tauride invites you to the unique exhibition «Russian Atlantis»

Until September 3, more than 30 artists from different regions of the country are taking part in the Russian Atlantis International Plein Air Exhibition Project, which turns 10 this year.

During the existence of the project, more than 100 artistic expeditions were organized in cities from the Baltic to Baikal, as well as in the Kuban, Novorossia and Crimea. Plein airs in Sevastopol and Khersones are held jointly with the Union of Artists of Russia and the St. Petersburg Center for Humanitarian Programs. They bring together craftsmen who are interested in the history of the country and the preservation of its cultural heritage.

The Tauric Chersonesus Museum-Reserve with its holy places and ancient monuments, the gentle and the raging sea, the romance of ancient and medieval buildings has become the center of attraction for the painters of the Russian Atlantis project for the second time.

In this unique cultural institution, rich in its diversity of architecture and the sea, fascinating excursions, conversations about ancient and medieval history, culture and Orthodoxy with leading experts in their field await us. This plein air can and should become a full-fledged scientific and creative symposium, from which we expect many memorable events and discoveries. Work in Chersonese is one of the brightest pages of the Russian Atlantis project. We express our deep gratitude to the director of the museum-reserve, E. A. Morozova, for the unique opportunity to create in a holy place, on the Black Sea coast.
