Chersonesos Taurica became part of a large project
CrimeaPRESS reports:
These books are a wonderful gift from our federal museums to the Tavrida.ART library. They preserve knowledge about the history of museums, about their priceless collections, because our Russian museums are real treasure troves of art that preserve our cultural heritage and tell people every day that we have the greatest country, that the most brilliant people lived in our country, live and create brilliant works, and most importantly, they tell about the great contribution our cultural figures made to the development of the country and to the development of world culture as a whole.— said Dmitry Trubinov, Deputy Director of the Department of Museums and External Relations of the Russian Ministry of Culture, during the opening.
He said that the book editions were donated by about 70 federal museums, including the largest institutions — the Peterhof Museum-Reserve, the Russian Museum, the Bakhrushin Theatre Museum, the Tretyakov Gallery, the Historical Museum and the Moscow Kremlin Museums, as well as small memorial ones. Most of the books were signed by the museum directors with wishes for future readers.
A special part of the new section of the library will be a selection of books from the All-Russian Museum of A. S. Pushkin and the Mikhailovskoye Museum-Reserve, which tell about the creative legacy of the author. This year, according to the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation, the 225th anniversary of the great Russian writer is celebrated on a large scale throughout the country.
The department representative noted that the new book collection of Taurida will also be useful for scientific study, since now it contains materials from almost all areas of activity — from folk crafts to space. Thus, publications on the Russian tradition of decorative art, and on European fine art from the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, and books from Suzdal, Pskov and Veliky Novgorod on the history of Russian statehood appeared on the bookshelves. The Polytechnic Museum provided materials on scientific discoveries, and the Victory Museum — on the heroic deeds of the Soviet army. Of particular interest to guests of Taurida will certainly be books on the history of Crimea from ancient times to the present day from the Chersonesos Taurica Museum-Reserve.
I think it is unlikely that anywhere else in Russia there will be such a collection of books in one place that tell exactly about the history of all our federal museums, which made the Library of Creative Industries of Taurida absolutely unique. Now thousands of young people who come every year and participate in this grand project will be able to come here and get acquainted with the history of our museums, learn more about Russian art, about world art, and, thus, once again be convinced that they live in the greatest country, and they have so many reasons to be proud of it.— concluded Dmitry Trubinov.
The Tavrida.ART Library of Creative Industries, in addition to this collection, carefully stores more than one and a half thousand books on creativity, received as gifts from participants and experts of various programs. One of its key tasks is to demonstrate the creative diversity of the country, the basis of the collection is books on the art, culture and traditions of the regions of Russia. The opportunity to share their experience on the shelves of the most creative library of the country has now appeared for Russian museums thanks to the Ministry of Culture of Russia. Soon the library collection will also be replenished with publications on the history of theater and folk art, donated by federal and theaters, concert institutions and creative groups.
