Children from the border areas of the Belgorod Region spend their shift at the Artek International Children's Center
CrimeaPRESS reports:
For the 7th shift of 2023, Artek in the Frame, children from the border regions of the Belgorod Region arrived at the Artek International Children’s Center. For 21 days, boys and girls will attend additional education circles and psychological trainings, swim in the sea, play sports and spend team evenings with their new friends and counselors. The trip to Artek was organized on behalf of the Minister of Education of the Russian Federation Sergey Kravtsov. The fact that 160 small residents of the Belgorod region went to Artek was announced by Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov on his telegram channel even before the shift.
The Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation is helping us — it has allocated a quota. In general, 560 children of the Belgorod Region will have a rest in Artek this year— wrote the head of the region.
In the children’s center, the children plunged into the friendly atmosphere of the Artek shift.
In 21 days they will feel what support, attention, mutual assistance are. The guys will swim in the sea, go hiking, engage in specialized activities. They can try themselves in a variety of activities — about 150 additional education studios are presented to their attention! Most importantly, we will try to make children from the border regions feel safe, find friends here from other regions of Russia and become part of a large, one and a half million Artek family— notes the director of the ICC «Artek» Konstantin Fedorenko.
The long-awaited summer holidays for young Belgorod residents will be especially bright. After all, the shift program is thought out so that in 21 days they have the opportunity to take part in all the large-scale events of the Artek shift.
The guys are enrolled in different children’s camps and are divided into groups. In each detachment, acquaintance games have already been held, during which the Artek students learned to interact with each other, recognized the camp where they will have to live their shift. The guys managed to walk along the paths of the parks, see the famous Wish Tree and even swim in the sea.
This is an amazing place. I got into a wonderful squad, we have already managed to make friends and get to know each other a little. There are no words to describe our leaders. They are kind and funny. For several days of the shift, we managed to walk around the territory and swim in the sea. And today we are going on an excursion to Simferopol, to the concentration camp «Red»— shared Tatyana Irkhin, Valuyki.
In Artek, children can try a lot of new things. Everyone chose for themselves a profile that they will be engaged in throughout the shift. One of these profiles is the medical squad. Artek’s first step into medicine was made at the initiation – a solemn ceremony at which the children were tied with a white tie with the symbols of the medical detachment. In the first profile session, they learned how to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation, how to determine the presence of signs of life and what responsibility they bear when providing first aid.
For several days of shift at Artek, I experienced a lot of positive emotions. It is felt that I am in an international level camp, since every day of ours is interesting and informative. I have very kind counselors and friendly staff. I chose the medical unit for myself. Today we have the first lesson in which we examined medical laws, how to determine the presence of signs of life in a person. On the profile I will be taught to provide first aid. This knowledge will definitely help me in the future.— says Artem Vostrikov, Belgorod.
Also, the guys will try their skills in DJing, fine arts, vocal art, artistic expression, competitions of theatrical miniatures, architecture and layout. Many have already managed to conquer the climbing wall and rope park. The guys went through an introductory safety briefing, learned everything about the equipment and tried themselves on tracks of different difficulty levels.
I have a wonderful squad, we all immediately became friends thanks to our counselors. What I like the most is that we have interesting classes all the time. Today we came to the climbing wall. I had never tried this kind of sport before, so I was glad to try myself in this— shared Anna Lyapina, Belgorod region.
The first classes were also held in the Children’s Marine Flotilla. The children liked the sea business. Today, most of them went to sea for the first time on sup-boards and kayaks. Artek residents also visited the Navy Museum in the Morskoy children’s camp: they learned a lot about the structure of the first ships and the history of the Russian Navy.
A varied program has been prepared for Artek residents: they will take part in the City of Masters “Everything depends on us!”, dedicated to the Motherland Day; together with new friends will celebrate the Day of love, family and fidelity. And they will also become participants in the International Children’s Film Festival «Scarlet Sails» named after V.S. Lanovoy in Artek. The film forum program includes competitive films, master classes and creative meetings with filmmakers. The guys will not only plunge into the world of cinema, but they themselves will become screenwriters, actors, cameramen.
Children will also visit the inclusive Day of Equal Opportunities event, which will introduce them to the Paralympic disciplines — wheelchair tennis, sitting volleyball and football for the blind. Volunteers and young athletes with disabilities who are already making progress in these sports will be the guides for the children in a new world for them.
