Children's safety festival in Sevastopol

A large-scale festival of child safety was held for the first time in Sevastopol. The event was initiated by the city Department of Education and Science. The festival took place on the territory of the Quantorium children’s technology park and the Center for Tourism, Local History, Sports and Excursions.

More than 500 kindergarteners, schoolchildren and students of secondary specialized educational institutions attended the event. A different route was developed for each age group. Participants had to visit the sites of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate, get acquainted with the rules of safety on water and in the air, behavior in emergency situations, test their knowledge of traffic rules, learn the basics of first aid, and also answer questions related to information security. An exhibition of equipment and technology was presented at each location.

The festival took place ahead of the summer holiday season. We wanted to playfully, through quests and various tasks, to once again remind children of the basic rules of safety on land, on water, during a fire, on a hike, and so on. We express our gratitude to our colleagues from law enforcement agencies and doctors for supporting the project and organizing thematic locations. In addition, the event was of a career guidance nature: preschoolers, schoolchildren and students learned even more about such professions as an ambulance doctor, rescuer, sapper, firefighter, and patrol officer. The guys completed tasks, tried on a rescue suit, studied company cars and practiced first aid skills on mannequins. Many participants invited their parents and participated in the festival with their whole family.

Based on the results, the best teams in each nomination and age category were determined.

I really enjoyed this event. I didn’t want to leave, even though I was ready to complete assignments all weekend. My team won in the “Disaster Medicine” category. We visited the ambulance, looked at what was in the drawers, answered the doctors’ questions better than anyone else, and learned how to provide first aid. Perhaps I will become a doctor too. And as a souvenir, we took a photo with the ambulance crewnotes a student from school No. 27.
