A ceremonial ceremony was held today at the Sevastopol School of Arts to mark the start of classes. Almost 660 children started studying. 300 art school students are already studying on the territory of the created center. At 9,200 sq.m. There are 40 modern classrooms equipped with the latest technology: 15 painting classrooms, 12 production art and craft workshops, 5 computer classes, a library and information center, exhibition and conference rooms.
There has never been anything like this in the modern history of Sevastopol. We have opened a truly amazing new institution — the city children’s art school. The My History Foundation handed it over to the city, now it is a city cultural institution. I thank the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Olga Borisovna Lyubimova, because I addressed her personally with a request to send the best specialists from all leading federal cultural institutions and art institutes to the entrance exams. I especially thank Vladimir Lvovich Mashkov, his school undertook to supervise the theater direction. The exams were held as objectively as possible, as independently as possible, and the guys who entered can be proud, because indeed their talents were recognized by a very broad, objective and independent jury,” the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes the city governor, Mikhail Razvozhaev.
The expert commissions included representatives of federal educational institutions: Perm State Choreographic School, Moscow Academic Art School, St. Petersburg State Academic Art Lyceum at the Russian Academy of Arts, Moscow Central Art School at the Russian Academy of Arts, Academic Music School at the Moscow State Conservatory. P.I. Tchaikovsky, a studio school at the State Academic Folk Dance Ensemble named after Igor Moiseev — only 27 people.
The main activities of the school are additional pre-professional programs in the field of arts, there are five of them: “Decorative and Applied Arts”, “Design”, “Architecture”, “Choreographic Creativity” and “Theater Art”. Pre-professional programs are strictly regulated by Federal State Educational Standards and are aimed at identifying gifted children and their further professional guidance; the period for completing such programs is 5 years. The main purpose of the institution is additional education for children aged 5.5 to 18 years.
Despite the fact that the school is urban, it is already known throughout the country. And this, of course, places great responsibility on us. We are confident that we can handle this! As for the internal contents of the school, you have all seen that it really has everything necessary for children to develop their talents. I am sure that we will be proud of our graduatessaid the governor.
The school offers seven general developmental programs for various age categories of children on a budgetary basis, and there is also the opportunity to study for a fee. The educational process this year is provided by 18 highly qualified teachers. To organize the educational process, a class schedule has been created that takes into account shifts in secondary schools, the child’s travel time from his place of residence or study, as well as his extracurricular activities. Morning groups have been formed, the educational process at school lasts until 20:00.
We have all been waiting for this for a very long time, this is such a long-awaited moment, because I understand what children and parents went through during these days of competitive selection, how we all waited for these rating lists “passed or failed.” We have now recruited first-graders, next year there will be a new intake,” notes the director of the Sevastopol Children’s Art School, Maria Kostevich.
People’s Artist of Russia Ilya Reznik wrote the anthem of the Sevastopol School of Arts in collaboration with the Honored Artist of Crimea, Sevastopol composer Alexander Batrak.
Today, at the ceremony, the anthem was performed by school teachers: Honored Artist of Russia Anna Masorina, Honored Artist of Crimea Oleg Paliy, the combined choir of Sevastopol Children’s Music School No. 8, the children’s choir «Korsun» of St. Vladimir’s Cathedral and the vocal ensemble «Unique Person».
