«Clean Walls»: in Sevastopol, police and volunteers eliminated drug advertising on building facades

The anti-drug event was organized as part of the Clean Walls campaign on the eve of the International Day against Drug Addiction and Illicit Drug Trafficking.
It was attended by employees of the UNK UMVD of Russia for the city of Sevastopol, together with representatives of the Department for Youth and Sports of the city and volunteers. At the beginning of the action, police captain Svetlana Kiryukhina, an employee of the drug control department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, told the participants of the event about the measures the police are taking to combat drug trafficking and why it is so important to eliminate drug advertising. The police officer also told what tricks drug traffickers use to involve teenagers and young people in the distribution of illicit substances and how to counter this.— noted in the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Sevastopol.
After the conversation, the participants of the action, armed with paint and painting tools, began to examine the facades of city buildings and adjacent territories on one of the streets of the Gagarinsky district in order to identify inscriptions containing propaganda and advertising of prohibited substances, after which they painted over them.
As a result of the «Clean Walls» action, more than 70 inscriptions containing advertisements for shady Internet resources distributing prohibited substances were eliminated.
