The championship and championship of the Southern and North Caucasus Federal Districts in rock climbing (disciplines: difficulty climbing, speed climbing) took place in Krasnodar.
More than 200 athletes from the Southern Federal District and North Caucasus Federal District took part in the competition. The Republic of Crimea performed as a national team — 25 athletes and three coaches, most of which consisted of athletes from Yalta.
The Crimean national team won 14 medals, of which 3 gold, 5 silver and 6 bronze medals, it is noteworthy that all the medals were won by athletes from the rock climbing department of the State Budgetary Educational Institution of the Republic of Crimea “Sports School No. 6” (coaches Zhanna Degtyarenko, Yalta, Sergey Cherevko, Bakhchisaray, Doroshenko Vladimir, Evpatoria).
The most successful were two Yalta athletes:
- Nadezhda Zakharova (15 years old) – two silver medals in the championship
- Anastasia Degtyarenko (16 years old) – two bronzes in the Olympic discipline (speed climbing and difficulty climbing), as well as bronze in the speed championship with a personal best of 12.5 seconds.
In the championship, the Republic of Crimea took second team place.
