In Big Yalta, in the area of house No. 2B on Yuzhnoberezhnoe Highway, part of the slope collapsed. The reason is construction work. About it reported Head of the Yalta Administration Yanina Pavlenko.
The work was carried out without permits. The house on the neighboring plot was under threat — the collapse approached it at a dangerous distance. But this four-story building is controversial — according to the papers, 100 square meters were intended for a garage. The growing “colossus” gave additional stress. People purchased the building a year ago, in their words, as a residential building— said Pavlenko.
According to her, there are more questions in this story than answers.
There is a huge amount of work ahead with documents and identifying the culprits. But for now the main thing is to prevent further soil sliding. Based on the recommendations of the landslide management department, we began to strengthen and backfill the slope, and then a capital work project will be developed. I am keeping the situation under control and calling on Yalta residents not to start construction work without permission. The terrain is difficult — there may be unpleasant surprises.
