Comment of the Head of Crimea in connection with the International Day of Memory of the Holocaust Victims
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Comment by the Head of the Republic of Crimea Sergei Aksenov in connection with the International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Holocaust.
“Then I saw the children… A terrible picture: bellies swollen with hunger, wandering eyes; arms like whips, thin legs; the head is huge, and everything else seems not human — as if sewn on. The kids were silent and showed only the numbers tattooed on their arms. These people no longer had tears. I saw them trying to wipe their eyes, but their eyes remained dry.»
These are the memoirs of one of the liberators of Auschwitz prisoners, Hero of the Soviet Union Vasily Yakovlevich Petrenko.
The camp was liberated by Soviet troops in 1945 on January 27. Today is Holocaust Remembrance Day, a date set by the UN. Among these victims are thousands of our fellow countrymen, killed and tortured by the Nazis and their minions during the occupation of Crimea.
Unfortunately, in the West they are trying to forget about those who extinguished the ovens of Auschwitz. The official Russian delegation will not be at the commemorative events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the death camp. But the German delegation will be there. There will also be delegations from other countries that actively support the Nazi regime, whose idols are the anti-Semites Petlyura and Bandera.
Russophobia kills not only memory, but also common sense, burns out everything human.
But we in Russia remember everything. And we will do everything to drive Nazism back into the grave from which the political “sorcerers” of the West raised it.
Eternal memory to the victims, eternal glory to the liberators! – says the commentary of the Head of the Republic.
