«Comrades, give me a new art!» – an exhibition dedicated to the 130th anniversary of Mayakovsky opened in Simferopol

An exhibition dedicated to the 130th anniversary of the birth of the poet, playwright, screenwriter, film director, film actor and artist Vladimir Mayakovsky has opened at the Simferopol Art Museum.
The exposition includes more than 100 works of painting and graphics, posters, decorative and applied art from the collection and library of the museum of 1900-1930, including those rarely shown.
Svetlana Glazunova, deputy director of the museum, noted that the presented works of art give an idea of the life and spirit of pre-revolutionary and post-revolutionary Russia, where Vladimir Mayakovsky lived and worked, who was not only a master of words, but also one of the leading representatives of the Russian avant-garde.
The project allows the viewer to feel the era in which the poet lived and worked, to see the trends, styles, meanings, aspirations, forms, psyche, attitude to life, rhythm in the works— the press service of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Crimea notes.
