Congratulation of the Head of the Republic of Crimea Sergey Aksyonov on the feast of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God

I cordially congratulate Orthodox Christians on the feast of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God!

According to His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’, we glorify the Kazan icon of the Mother of God, because Minin and Pozharsky prayed before it, because it was with him that the defenders of Moscow walked. Sincere faith and love for the Fatherland helped our people overcome all troubles, save and revive Russia.

Prince Dmitry Ivanovich Pozharsky built the Cathedral of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God in Moscow as a token of gratitude for the victory over foreign invaders. There are churches in honor of the Kazan Icon in many cities of our Motherland, including Feodosia. The cathedral was built at the beginning of the last century, it is one of the pearls of Orthodoxy in the Crimea.

May the Queen of Heaven always protect Russia, may she give our country and each of us peace and prosperity, give us strength and wisdom!
