It is impossible to overestimate the contribution of the Bishop to the revival of Orthodoxy in Crimea, to the strengthening of faith and spiritual enlightenment of the people. During the time during which Metropolitan Lazar headed the Crimean See, prayer life returned to the ancient monasteries, many new churches were built, and a theological seminary began operating. Important charitable and educational projects have been implemented, a lot has been done to preserve traditional family values, to strengthen peace and harmony on the Crimean land. The Church canonized Saint Luke of Voino-Yasenetsky and Saint Gury of Tauride.
