Congratulations from the Governor of Sevastopol Mikhail Razvozhaev on City Day
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Dear residents of Sevastopol! Congratulations on City Day!
Today we celebrate 241 years since the founding of Sevastopol. The name of our heroic city, which twice rose from the ashes, in Russia and the world has become an absolute synonym for heroism and unparalleled courage.
On May 11, 1944, two days after the liberation of Sevastopol from the Nazi invaders, Konstantin Georgievich Paustovsky wrote:
“The immortal name “Sevastopol” is known to the whole world — from Greenland to Cape Horn and from Alaska to Sydney. And this name will always shine for centuries as a symbol of courage and love for one’s Fatherland.”
80 years have passed, but these words do not lose their relevance.
Because Sevastopol is a city of incredible resilience. Just as it was impossible to break its inhabitants in the first and second heroic defense, so the people of Sevastopol did not flinch even now, during a special military operation. Many went to the front to defend the Russian world. Those who remained in the rear help our soldiers and take care of them.
I know for sure: no matter how our enemies try to intimidate us, they will never succeed. Residents of the Hero City are always together, protect and support each other. I have not seen such unity anywhere else, and it is worth a lot.
And today, on the birthday of the Hero City, I wish us all a speedy Victory. Let there be prosperity, kindness and joy in every Sevastopol home.
Happy holiday!
