Congratulations from the Head of Crimea Sergey Aksyonov on the Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Congratulations from the Head of the Republic of Crimea Sergey Aksyonov on the Transfiguration of the Lord – Apple Savior.
I congratulate Orthodox Christians on the great feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord!
It is dedicated to one of the central events of the Gospel story – the Transfiguration of the Lord Jesus Christ on Mount Tabor, which was witnessed by His disciples.
According to our Patriarch, the feast of the Transfiguration should be reflected in the transformation of our hearts; it is given to us so that we do not lose faith, and gives hope for salvation.
People call today’s holiday Apple Savior. Many believers come to churches to bless apples and other fruits.
There are many churches in Russia named after the Transfiguration of the Lord. One of them is located in the village of Nikita in the territory of Greater Yalta. It was built in the 19th century and was visited by the Russian Emperor Alexander III and his son, the future Emperor Nicholas II.
I congratulate everyone on the holiday, I wish you peace and spiritual joy! May the light of the Transfiguration illuminate our lives, helping us to do good deeds! – says the congratulations of the Head of Crimea.
