Congratulations from the Head of the Republic of Crimea Sergei Aksenov on the holiday of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross

I congratulate Orthodox Christians on the great holiday of the Exaltation of the Cross of the Lord. It is dedicated to the miraculous discovery of the Cross on which Jesus Christ was crucified.

Today in churches they read the following words from the Epistle of the Apostle Paul: “The message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God” (1 Cor. 1:18).

According to Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’, today helps us understand that when we sacrifice ourselves, when we sincerely share our time, our material capabilities, our love with others, then we gain God’s great gift. We become closer to God, the Lord forgives our sins.

Today, our soldiers risk and sacrifice their lives on the front line for the future of our country and our children, for the sake of our values. Each of us can make our own feasible sacrifice — from helping the front to supporting those in need and praying for the Fatherland, for the Victory.

Once again I congratulate everyone on the holiday, I wish you peace, health, warmth and spiritual joy! – says the congratulations from the Head of Crimea.
