Congratulations to the Orthodox Christians on the holiday of the Nativity of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker!

According to our Patriarch, the life of St. Nicholas was so consonant with the spiritual life of our people that he became the first saint for every Russian person. It is impossible in Rus’ to find an Orthodox family in which there would not be at least three icons: the Lord Jesus Christ, the Virgin and St. Nicholas.

This veneration is based on the personal spiritual experience of many millions of people, both our distant ancestors and contemporaries, millions of stories about the miraculous help of the saint in various circumstances, in the most seemingly hopeless situations.

However, today’s holiday reminds us not only about miracles, but, first of all, about strong faith, mercy and love for the neighbor. The need to do good and help those who need help. This is what the Great Holy did during his earthly life.
