Construction of a low-pressure gas pipeline is underway in the Sevastopol village of Verkhnesadovoye

Construction of a low-pressure gas pipeline is underway in the Sevastopol village of Verkhnesadovoye

CrimeaPRESS reports:

The total length of the pipes is about 11 km. Most of the gas pipeline will be underground (10,586 m), the above-ground part will take 373 m. The gas pipeline will be laid along Pirogov, Sevastopolskaya, Titov, Parshin, Krasnoselsky, Gagarin, Simirenko, Odintsov, Chapaev streets, as well as through Mirny, Dorozhny, Podgorny lanes.

This year we plan to complete the construction of a total of seven gas pipelines; we plan to commission some of the facilities ahead of schedule. Thanks to the measures, it will be possible to gasify Verkhnesadovoy, Pirogovka, Fruktovoy and Povorotny, Ozernoye, Rodnikovoy, Podgorny, as well as residential buildings on Rechnaya Street, in Rechnoye Lane in the village of Lyubimovka. Today I checked the progress of work on one of this year’s inaugural projects – the construction of a gas pipeline in the village of Verkhnesadovoy. The work is progressing on schedule, there is momentum — the facility is already 40% ready, which allows us to count on early completion of the work in the third quarter of this year. The contractor involved is reliable, with extensive experience in similar projects– the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes the director of the capital construction department Ivan Pogodin.

The gasification project for the village of Verkhnesadovoy involves excavation work in terms of developing and backfilling trenches, the installation of polyethylene underground pipes is provided, and the above-ground part of the gas pipeline is made of steel.

Laying a gas pipeline involves a large amount of work, including the installation of control tubes for quick detection of gas leaks in an underground gas pipeline in the most critical places where branches are connected and where the gas pipeline is difficult to access for inspection, installation of polyethylene fittings on the gas pipeline (couplings, tees, bends, transitions , plugs) – special parts for installation and repair of gas pipelines. Thanks to their use, gas can be transferred exactly along the required route without losses. In addition, provision is made for the installation of internal and external electrical networks and communication lines. In particular, a satellite wire will be laid, used to mark the gas pipeline route. Upon completion of construction and installation work, comprehensive landscaping will be carried out.

10-12 builders and 4 units of equipment are involved in the site every day. Currently, excavation work is underway to develop and backfill trenches, a gas pipeline is being installed, and welding and installation work continues. Most of the work is carried out using horizontal drilling to reduce damage to the asphalt concrete surface. On short streets we carry out work using the open method — we open up the ground and immediately install connection points for consumers. Our underground pipes are made of polyethylene, they are environmentally friendly during production, transportation, installation and operation, they are characterized by the absence of corrosion, biofouling and significant deposits, they have a 50-year warranty from the manufacturer,” notes Anton Vautrin, a representative of the MirTek contracting organization.

Nearby, in the village of Pirogovka, construction of a low-pressure gas pipeline is underway. The total length of the gas pipeline pipes is more than 4.5 km. They will pass along Urozhaynaya, Rabochaya, Tolstoy, Uglovaya, Palmetnaya streets and through Ozerny Lane.

Now the main part of the work is being carried out on Rabochaya Street, where the signal cable and tape are being laid, followed by backfilling the trench with crushed stone, preparatory work is being carried out, cleaning and purging of the internal cavity of the gas pipeline. Completion of construction and commissioning work is planned before the end of this year.

Let us remind you that in order to provide the population with natural gas, gasify settlements, as well as the construction and reconstruction of gas supply systems, within the framework of the state program for the socio-economic development of Crimea and Sevastopol, the implementation of 32 gas pipelines is envisaged in the territory of Sevastopol.

To date, the construction of 11 facilities has been completed, construction and installation work is being carried out at 12 facilities, and design and survey work is underway at 4 facilities with a completion date of 2024-2025. In addition, it is planned to conclude government contracts and complete construction and installation work on five more facilities in 2027.
