“Conversations about the important”: in Sevastopol, schoolchildren were told about media literacy and digital hygiene
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Today, the traditional «Conversations about the important» took place in Sevastopol schools. Students discussed the topic «Media Literacy and Digital Hygiene», learned about the safe and effective use of digital resources and devices, watched videos about online safety and improving digital literacy.
“Conversations about the important” is a great opportunity to talk heart to heart, to acquaint you with the heroes of not only the past, but also the present. Thanks to such conversations, we continue to instill in children a sense of patriotism. Each conversation leaves a response in the soul. The topic of today’s conversation is very relevant in our time — you need to know how to properly maintain your page, which Internet portals you can visit, and which ones are better to bypass. Today, during the conversation, some children were able to share stories that they themselves encountered in life, while others were able to gain useful experience, thanks to which they would not make mistakes , — the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes a teacher of Russian language and literature of the gymnasium No. 5 Marina Abramova.
During the lesson, the students got acquainted with the basic rules of digital security on the Internet — they learned about ways to protect their profile and personal information, about phishing links and social engineering. With teachers, the children figured out how to act in common situations when scammers attack. To consolidate the material, the students completed creative tasks.
I believe that all the topics that we touch on at «Conversations about the Important» are relevant, and today’s one is especially. We live in the age of modern technology, where any student uses a smartphone, a computer. And how not to fall into the bait of scammers, how not to be deceived by them? Today we received answers to these questions , — notes a student of grade 8A Ruslan Mastykin.
Recall that the Ministry of Education of Russia from September 1 2022 launched a large-scale project in schools — a cycle of extracurricular activities «Conversations about the important». At the beginning of each school week, schoolchildren are discussed with important topics about the history, culture, and traditions of our country.
