Convicted in criminal case of espionage

The state prosecution was supported by the prosecutor’s office of the Republic of Crimea.
The Zaporizhzhia regional court passed a verdict in a criminal case against a citizen of Ukraine. He was found guilty under Art. 276 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (espionage).
The court found that from August to December 2022, the defendant, while on the territory of the Zaporozhye region, collected information about the locations of one of the units of the Russian Guard, which he transferred to a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, acting in the interests of the security service of Ukraine,” reports the press service of the Crimean prosecutor’s office.
Thus, he transmitted information that could be used against the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
The court, taking into account the position of the state prosecutor, sentenced him to 10 years in prison to be served in a maximum security correctional colony. The state prosecution was supported by the prosecutor’s office of the Republic of Crimea.
