Cooperation: The Government of Sevastopol signed an agreement with the Mir payment system

CrimeaPRESS reports:

An agreement on cooperation between the Government of Sevastopol and the Mir payment system was signed at the site of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The document was signed by the Governor of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhaev, and the CEO of the Mir payment system, Vladimir Komlev. The agreement signed at SPIEF 2023 provides for cooperation in the development of cashless payment infrastructure, including travel in public transport. In Sevastopol, on the basis of the Mir payment system, the Unified City Card of Sevastopol (EGKS) has been operating since 2019. In the near future, bank cards based on the Mir payment system may replace the current non-bank travel ticket.

This agreement is very important for us. The development of the city is impossible without modern electronic services. An important accent in everything is the Mir national payment system, which is part of our technological sovereignty. Mir can provide 100% import substitution in the financial sector. And for all 9 years, Sevastopol and the entire peninsula have been a testing ground for the implementation and creation of a national payment system, and today it is already a product that colleagues are promoting perfectly throughout the country– quotes the press service of the Government of Sevastopol Mikhail Razvozhaev.

As part of the agreement, the prospect of expanding the list of services provided to the residents of Sevastopol opens up.

Sevastopol became one of the first regions from which the development of the Resident Card project based on the Mir payment system began in the country. And for us it is a significant subject. By signing the agreement today, we, together with our colleagues from the region, are planning to expand the functionality of the existing social card in Sevastopol, making it a useful and convenient tool for absolutely all residents. Our immediate plans include expanding the list of non-financial and digital services, as well as increasing the number of project participants— says Vladimir Komlev.

Vladimir Komlev also recalled that the entire summer holiday season of 2023 in Sevastopol can be traveled cheaper by public transport. The Mir payment system provided all passengers with more favorable conditions for travel with their cards for 4 months. When paying for trips with a Mir card loaded into a smartphone, a discount of 8 rubles is provided. All you need is just to attach the phone with the Mir Pay or Samsung Pay application installed on it to the payment terminal. The fare will be automatically deducted from the card minus the discount.

For reference: in Sevastopol, at present, more than 90% of issued bank cards are cards of the Mir payment system. This provides great opportunities for the implementation of various digital and non-financial services based on cards of the Mir payment system.
