Sergei Panteleimonovich was born in 1925 in the village of Mikhailovka, Vinnitsa region in a peasant family.
In the ranks of the Red Army, he was drafted in November 1943. He studied at the United Naval School of Junior Air Specialists of the Air Force of the Black Sea Fleet in New Athos. In May 1944, he was sent to the 18th separate naval reconnaissance aviation squadron of the Black Sea Fleet Air Force.
Sergey became a member of the crew of the famous “flying boat”, the Katalina Marine patrol bomber. They transported goods and medicines, conducted air intelligence, took part in the landing of the marine corps. Sergei Panteleimonovich recalled that the German submarines were afraid of them, since the “catalyins” were equipped with deep aviation bombs.
In 1945, the beekeeper participated in the purification of the Crimean coast from min. The squadron in which he served controlled the coastline to ensure the work of the Yalta Conference.
After the war, Sergei Panteleimonovich continued to serve in the Crimea. He flew on domestic seaplanes and jet aircraft. Demobilized in 1957 with the rank of chief foreman.
Sergei Aksyonov added that the veteran account has more than 1,000 hours of night flights.
The merits of Sergei Panteleimonovich are marked by the Order of the Patriotic War of the II degree and 18 medals. His path is an example for all generations of defenders of the Fatherland, — emphasized the head of Crimea.
