Crimea and the DPR will jointly promote cheese, wine and confectionery products for export

The authorities of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) and the Republic of Crimea intend to jointly promote their products to international markets by organizing joint stands at exhibitions, reported TASS Acting Head of the Export Support Center of the DPR Small and Medium Enterprise Support Fund Maria Sysoeva:

Food products are export-oriented both to Crimea and the DPR. There are positions that we can combine and organize joint stands: cheeses, sweets and other confectionery products, wine. Our sales markets are the CIS countries, the Middle East, and Africa. We will consider all possible options.

She said that the export support center in the DPR began its work on April 12, 2024 and expressed hope that Crimean colleagues will help in its activities. “I am sure that there will be joint projects and stands at exhibitions, we will cooperate and achieve success through joint efforts. It is important for us to learn from the experience of Crimea,” she said.

In turn, Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers — Minister of Finance of the Republic of Crimea Irina Kiviko said that the republican authorities will support DPR exporters by presenting products with a joint stand at international exhibitions.

Last year, Crimea, together with the Krasnodar Territory, participated in a wine exhibition in Shanghai with a single stand, which attracted a lot of attention. It’s a good experience. At the exhibitions in which Crimea plans to participate this year, in Saudi Arabia, Turkey, we invite the DPR to participate with us if there is such interest,” Kiviko told TASS.

On May 16-17, the Forum “Export Time” is taking place in Alushta. It is attended by government officials, more than 300 entrepreneurs, and experts in the field of exports.

Kiviko noted that the leading counterparty countries in exports of the Republic of Crimea at the end of 2023 are Turkey, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Abkhazia, Uzbekistan, Armenia, Tajikistan, Mongolia, Indonesia. There remains an increased interest in cooperation with the countries of the Middle East and Asia.

The commodity structure of the republic’s exports is mainly represented by engineering products (73.6%), food products and raw materials for their production (17.2%), chemical products (3.7%), metals and products made from them (3.3%). ).

In 2023, more than 330 small and medium-sized businesses in Crimea received government support, and 20 export contracts were concluded totaling $9.9 million for the supply of products to 12 countries.
