Crimea is among the top popular destinations for jeeping in Russia
CrimeaPRESS reports:
October 11th is Off-Road Day. Today it is also called Jeeper Day, but the first jeep appeared decades after motorists in the Russian Empire staged the first off-road driving competition, which was called the “Two-mile obstacle race on a country road.”
And now in our country there are enough fans of extreme cross-country driving, traveling in wild places and adventures. Therefore, the Russian vacation rental booking service TVIL.RU conducted a survey on social networks on the topic: which destinations do they consider the most interesting for jeeping? And this is what they answered.
- Crimea came in first place, chosen by 22% of voters. Jeep tours in the mountainous Crimea are offered by many travel companies and the routes are also different. You can come to Sudak and go to Meganom, or from Alushta — to the Valley of Ghosts. There are many other routes — all of them are magnificent and memorable.
- In second place is Karachay-Cherkessia, the choice of 20% of voting participants. Here tourists can see beautiful mountains, rivers, natural and architectural monuments, as well as the resorts of Arkhyz, Dombay and Teberda along the way.
- In third place is Gorny Altai, favored by 18% of participants. Jeeping here is an opportunity to see the tourist pearls of the region, where no mass tourist sets foot: the Eshtykel plateau, lakes Dzhangyskol, Akkul and Karakul, Blue Lake on the Bolshoi Aktru glacier, Achik pass, from where Belukha and other main mountains of Altai are visible.
- The Krasnoyarsk Territory attracted the attention of 12% of voters. Here this extreme type of recreation is one of the most popular. The routes are sometimes laid in places where ordinary cars cannot pass. Fans of jeeping will find swamps, steep descents and ascents, narrow mountain paths and river crossings. Popular routes include a trip to the Kivach waterfall, to Shushenskoye, where V.I. Lenin.
- 10% of participants voted for Karelia. There are also a variety of routes here — through the mountains, rivers, bridges and waterfalls of Karelia. You can go on a jeep tour combined with fishing, or to the mystical places of Karelia.
- Adygea was chosen by 7% of voters. Fans of off-road driving go to the Devil’s Finger rock, the Sahrai waterfalls, and the Lago-Naki plateau. The routes run through the most picturesque places that no one who once saw and photographed them will forget.
- Baikal and its surroundings were chosen by 5% of subscribers. Jeepers here go to Olkhon Island, Cape Khoboy, and the Tazheran steppes. And in winter, cars can drive directly on the ice of the great “glorious sea.”
- The Murmansk region collected 3% of the votes. Here you can fully enjoy the nature of the Arctic, see the Kola Peninsula, the Rybachy Peninsula, fish, ride not only a jeep, but also a husky, and if you’re lucky, see the northern lights.
- 2% of voting participants voted for the Leningrad region. The most common routes here are in the vicinity of Vyborg and Vsevolozhsk, along abandoned sand quarries, past abandoned villages, natural, cultural and architectural monuments.
- Primorsky Krai is the choice of 1% of all voters. There are also an unusually large number of interesting routes — from one-day to multi-day ones. Exciting jeep tours are conducted on the islands around Vladivostok, including Russky Island, and along the coast.
