Crimea is fully self-sufficient in wheat, bread, pork, fruits and berries

The Republic of Crimea fully meets its own needs for food wheat, bread and bread products, pork, fruits and berries. The Head of the Republic of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, announced this in his Telegram channel. At the same time, the supply of eggs is 63%, and for poultry meat – more than 70%. Sergei Aksyonov emphasized that livestock farming remains one of the key sectors of the republican agro-industrial complex.

There are 25 dairy production enterprises and 23 meat processing enterprises in Crimea. The industry is showing good results. In January — September 2024 alone, production volumes increased: milk — by 15.1%; cheeses – by 1.4%; cottage cheese and fermented milk products — by 19.3 and 14%, respectively; cattle meat – by 7.7%; poultry meat – by 27%; meat and meat-containing semi-finished products – by 20%, – informed the Head of the Republic.

As the Head of Crimea emphasized, the stable operation of the agro-industrial complex is an important basis for food security.

It is necessary to continue to increase our own production volumes. Increase the number of commercial dairy cattle and poultry. To do this, it is necessary to provide for the construction of new complexes and scale up existing sites“, concluded the Head of the Republic.
