Crimea is preparing to celebrate the centenary of Artek

The Head of the Republic of Crimea held a meeting of the republican organizing committee for the preparation and holding of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the International Children’s Center «Artek». Sergey Aksyonov emphasized that «Artek» is not only the calling card of Crimea, but also an all-Russian pearl.
This is the legendary capital of childhood, which after reunification with Russia began a new era of development. I am sure that we will worthily celebrate the first centennial anniversary of the children’s center, – the press service quotes the Head of Crimea.
Thus, the members of the organizing committee outlined a plan of celebratory events for 2025, which are expected to be held both on the territory of the children’s center and throughout the republic.
Work issues were also discussed, including the improvement of the entrance group and the adjacent territory near the Artek stele, the organization of traffic and the repair of the road surface of the streets. It is noted that the assigned tasks are being implemented by the Artek management together with the republican and municipal authorities.
The event was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Crimea — Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Crimea Elena Romanovskaya, ministers and heads of relevant departments, director of the International Children’s Center «Artek» Konstantin Fedorenko.
REFERENCE. Large-scale construction and renovation of the material and technical base of the International Children’s Center began in 2015 as part of the Artek development program. By 2020, reconstruction, major repairs and construction of 19 sports grounds, 4 concert venues with a capacity of more than 5 thousand people, 9 canteens and more than 70 social infrastructure facilities have been completed. Currently, the construction and renovation of the material and technical base of the Center continues. The strategic goal of the program is to turn Artek into a leading international center for children’s educational recreation by its 100th anniversary.
