Crimea is sick: in a week they record up to 200 cases of influenza of different strains
Krympress reports:
Crimea enters the peak of incidence of influenza, official statistics fixes up to 200 cases per week. About this on the air of the radio «Satellite in the Crimea» The head of the department of epidemiological supervision of the Interregional Department of Rospotrebnadzor in the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol Svetlana Listopad reported. According to her, Crimea is characteristic that it is February that becomes a peak period of incidence of the flu of all types. In different years, a shift is possible for 2-3 weeks, but on this highest indicators traditionally fell in the middle of the month.
We go to our peak incidence. If a few weeks ago, isolated cases were recorded, 2–4, and then 5–10, now, now, up to 170-200 cases of influenza.— said Listopad.
She emphasized that these are official numbers, that is, those who show how many people have seen medical help due to malaise. In fact, according to Listopad, the picture may be even more serious, since there are those who are ill and engaged in self -medication. And this can be very dangerous due to the high pathogenicity of influenza viruses and the danger of complications, the doctor warned.
Influenza is the most severe viral disease in the ARVI group, and its reproduction proceeds with an extremely high speed. If only one viral particle enters the respiratory tract after 8 hours, the number of infectious offspring reaches 10 thousand. And by the end of the first day these are already millions— said Listopad.
The most severe pulmonary complication is the development of viral pneumonia, which can develop in a matter of days after a deceptive improvement, she added.
Often, patients note that after 3-4 days an improvement appears, but at the same time a dry cough with chest pain increases. These are symptoms, ”the specialist warned.
In order not to miss this moment, she recommends that the doctor necessarily have a sharpness from the first days: with high temperature, general intoxication and weakness. Because sudden malaise is a feature of influenza.
With influenza, unlike similar and generally tolerant SARS, the patient not only greatly temperatures, but also complains of headache, aches in the whole body, chills, sweating and dizziness. Skin rashes and nasal bleeding are also possible due to blood vessel virus damage, and the leaf fall warned.
The flu has a lot of subtypes, and most of them are the types A and B, which are now circulating in the Crimea, she said. There are strains that cause the most severe forms of the disease and are capable of epidemic distribution, for example H1N1 -Gryppa A.
However, for a person, as a rule, it does not matter what type of influenza he fell ill — this affects only the general epidemiological characteristic of the incidence period, Listopad said. — Because the severity of the course of the disease depends not only on the pathogenicity of a particular flu subtype, but also on how much the body can give an adequate immune response— said the medic.
The smallest danger, according to her, is represented by the flu for those who have vaccinated. This is due to the fact that several strains are included in the influenza vaccine — as a rule, 3-4. And immunity is developed to all of them, leaf fall emphasized.
Despite the fact that a repeated disease of the vaccinated is possible, it “will still not be difficult, since the general proteins of the influenza will be an immune response,” the specialist noted.
The peak of incidence lasts usually 3-4 weeks, after which a decline is observed. Therefore, so far, taking into account the situation, the representative of the Federal Agency forces recommends that Crimeans use the masks in public places to protect the respiratory tract. And also regularly wash your hands and process surfaces and gadgets.
