Crimea is the leading region at the exhibition and forum «Russia»

Among more than 130 stands of the exhibition-forum, the Crimean stand entered the top 10 in the popular online voting, taking the palm in all 11 nominations evaluating the work of the expositions: «Best of the Best», «Most Original», «Most Educational», «With Care for Nature», «Preservation of Traditions», «Best for Children», «Progress and Innovation», «Best Virtual Tour», «Best Interactive», «Best Tourist Project» and «Best Social Project».

The peninsula also took second place in the number of guides who worked at the regional stand, second only to Moscow. Over the eight months of the exhibition-forum, 344 people fell in love with the sunny peninsula, among them were not only tour guides, but also heads of municipal entities of the Republic of Karelia, who were happy to conduct interactive events, introduce the history and traditions of the region, presenting its potential in various directions.

As part of the Crimean tourism decade at VDNKh, which took place from December 10 to 21, visitors to the RK stand saw the most striking achievements of the peninsula in the following areas: «Crimea for Children», «To Crimea for Health», «To Crimea for Impressions», «To Crimea for Taste». Even a robot tour guide told guests about the region’s attractions. Among those who took an active part in the events of the decade, 18 vacation packages to Crimea were raffled off. At the key event — Republic Day at VDNKh — one could try dishes of the Crimean Tatars and Karaites, listen to live national music, see dances of different nations and learn about the achievements of the peninsula.

The winners of the All-Russian photo contest «Crimea in My Heart», dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the reunification of the peninsula with Russia, organized by the Ministry of Resorts and Tourism of the Republic of Crimea, were awarded at the exhibition-forum. The works could be seen at the photo exhibition on the territory of VDNKh, where the best 20 works were presented.

The results of the photo contest «Let’s go to Crimea!» were also summed up. Participants took pictures against the background of the Crimean stand and published them on the social network VKontakte with the hashtag #КрымБушнаянаВДНХ, indicating what they liked at the Republic’s stand and why they should go on vacation. The six most creative and heartfelt posts were awarded gifts from the Crimean Tourist Portal.

In total, the stand of the Republic of Crimea hosted 25 thematic decades, 387 presentations of achievements, 6,210 master classes, 3,050 competitions, quizzes, lotteries and drawings, 1,000 meetings with significant people and ambassadors, 665 virtual excursions.

Well-deserved awards for achievements in the International Exhibition and Forum «Russia» — a commemorative statuette and medal to the adviser to the head of the Republic of Crimea Sergei Kudrin were presented by the First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the exhibition Sergei Kiriyenko.

On July 1, President Vladimir Putin signed an order to establish the National Center «Russia» to preserve the legacy of the exhibition-forum and to demonstrate the country’s achievements on a permanent basis. The first event to be held at this National Center will be the International Science Fiction Symposium-Exhibition «Creating the Future.» The event is scheduled for November 4-6.
