Crimea Man Punished for Drunk Riding Electric Scooter

On July 16, 2024, the Simferopol District Court of the Republic of Crimea sentenced a resident of the village of Konstantinovka, Simferopol District, born in 1971, to compulsory labor for driving an electric scooter while intoxicated. The term of compulsory labor was 320 hours with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of 3 years, with confiscation of the electric scooter to the state.
In February of this year, a resident of the said village, not having the right to drive a vehicle, while intoxicated, got behind the wheel of an electric scooter, on which he was traveling through the territory of the village of Ukrainka, Simferopol district. While on Ukrainka Street in the said settlement, the disobedient driver was stopped by a traffic police inspector monitoring road safety, and removed from driving the said mechanical vehicle.— the court’s press service reported.
The verdict shall enter into legal force after 15 days from the date of its pronouncement, unless it has been appealed by the parties within the specified period.
