Crimea Ministry of Internal Affairs: Distributors and Ways Schemes of how to protect themselves from them
Krympress reports:
One of the most common among attackers was the scheme — calls from employees of security services of banks and law enforcement agencies in order to steal funds from citizens’ accounts.
The main reason for the success of such crimes is the gullibility of the inhabitants of the peninsula. People often believe what sounds professionally and inspires trust. In addition, not all citizens know about all the intricacies of using modern technologies and dangers associated with providing access to their devices to third parties.
An important role is also played by the factor of surprise and the emotional reaction of the victim. Having received a message about a possible threat to their financial well -being, people begin to panic and cease to critically evaluate the situation, becoming easy prey for criminals.
To protect oneself and his property, the Crimean Ministry of Internal Affairs recommends following several simple rules:
1. Never transmit your personal data to anyone, even if a calling person seems to be an employee of a bank or law enforcement agencies.
2. If you receive a call with a request to confirm your data or allow access to your device, immediately stop the conversation and independently contact the bank through the official phone number indicated on the institution’s website.
3. Do not believe in “safe accounts” — this is a deception!
Remember !!!! Banks will never request full details of cards, confirmation codes or other confidential information by phone.
Be vigilant and careful! Only your attentiveness can protect you from financial losses.
