Crimea: Monitoring of GGS points at an altitude of 1527 m above sea level
Krympress reports:
Crimean geodesists pass kilometers along the mountains and forests, everything in order to check the points of the GGS and the STS, whose accurate coordinates help in urban development, navigation and cadastral activities, in land management and subsoil use, in solving problems related to the needs of the country’s defense and other fundamental scientific, economic and technical problems of geodesia, cartography, cartography Geophysics, geodynamics and astronautics.
The territory of Russia is evenly covered by the state geodetic network (GGS). Each item is numbered and its coordinates are included in special catalogs stored in the federal spatial data fund. In 2022, Rosreestr began a large-scale inventory of such objects according to the State Program “National Spatial Data System”, since the last mass installation of GGS points in the country was carried out back in the 1970-1980s. If the marks are shifted, damaged or knocked down, errors may occur in the calculations.
Monitoring of the points is not from simple, geodesists are equipped with satellite geodetic equipment, a camera for photographic -fixing the condition of the item, a shovel for searching for points pulled by soil, they leave early in the morning and returned late in the evening.
The GGS point on Mount Chatyr-Dag was installed in 1958 and serves as a high-rise basis for the construction of buildings and structures, as well as for the study of vertical movements of the earth’s crust.
