Crimea records decline in open-ground vegetable yields

Due to the abnormal heat, which has been going on for more than a month, the yield of open-ground vegetables has decreased. The drought will also directly affect the cost of grown products, since agricultural producers bear additional costs for preserving the harvest (the frequency of irrigation has increased, and this means additional costs for electricity, and so on). According to operational data, the yield of early vegetables has decreased by 20 to 40% depending on the crop. For fruit and berry products, the yield reduction is predicted to be no more than 10%.— Acting Minister Alime Zaredinova commented.

Alime Zaredinova also reported that in the fall there is still harvesting of late-harvested vegetables, and in general there is no need to talk about the criticality of the situation.
