Analysts of the state labeling system “Honest Sign” compiled a rating of the country’s regions based on data on shoe production for 2023. At the end of last year, second place in the production ranking sandals in Russia took Republic of Crimea — over the past year, 241 thousand pairs were manufactured in the region.
The most sandals in Russia in 2023 were produced in Moscow – 374 thousand pairs. The top five also included:
- Saint Petersburg– 210 thousand pairs;
- Sverdlovsk region– 208 thousand pairs;
- Republic of Bashkortostan– 158 thousand pairs.
Weighted average prices on sandals in Crimea fell by 17%. If you look at the data for 2022, on average a pair of sandals cost buyers 1,807 rubles. In 2023, the figure was 1,492 rubles.
Over the 12 months of 2023, sandal sales in the region grew by 41% year-on-year. In total, from January to December last year, residents of Crimea spent 166 million rubles on sandals.
